Bettina is done - finally!

It sure took a while but reality caught up and clenched its jaws around my knitting needles. But now I am done, about 1½ months after my intented deadline. The prowd recipient, Anna (sorry about her chin and lip, she had a quite severe encounter with a very heavy ladder the day before):

So now I am working on making a small version for Annas BabyBorn, Maja - later Anna will get the Surprise HelloKitty purse which I know she will totally adore.
By the way: I chose to sew the Hello Kitty onto the top afterwards instead of knitting it directly because my intarsia skills are not up to my maybe perfectionistic standards - now Kitty is even, no jagged edges or anything - but maybe a bit heavier fabric, which I can live with looking at.

Finished Penny's HK Top!

p 003

Hooray! I finally have a picture for you all. I wanted to get a picture of the recipient wearing it, but she won't be over until the weekend, so I had to at least post this picture. What a fun pattern! And I didn't even ruin the embroidery (though I now see that there's a ring from the embroidery hoop visible on the shirt.Oops...)! I can't wait to do the crocheted bag now!

Hallelujah!

Because I am done with the knitting part of the Hello Kitty shirt. I even wove in all the ends before putting it between two wet towels to block. Yay me! It's not that this was a tortuous pattern or anything, I just kept working on other things and put in a marathon day today and sheeeet, my wrists hurt. Penny will be over tomorrow so I will double check measurements, then all will be left are seaming and embroidering the face. Pictures will come soon...
